Don't miss out on the opportunity to donate to the Poston Brick Program.
This is a MAJOR fundraising campaign to get us started with preserving Poston's remaining historic structures to create a museum. The museum will tell the stories of the Japanese Americans and Native Americans who shared the surrounding land.
For $100 donation or more, you can purchase a 4" x 8" brick with a personalized inscription (name of Poston internee, donor's name or wording of your choice).
To obtain a brick donation form or check on the progress of this fundraising program, click on "BRICK CAMPAIGN" (on the left side of your screen).
We are actively working to preserve the physical artifacts as well as the stories and memories of life in one of America's concentration camps located at Poston, Arizona. It was named "Poston" or the "Colorado River Relocation Center", located on the Colorado River Indian Reservation during World War II. The Poston Community Alliance is a 501(c)(3)non-profit group.

What are the Poston, Arizona block books about?
Basically, the book is a "Who's Who" directory of the incarcerated people and where they lived within each
block and barrack based on the 1944 Poston census. The book includes
names and limited photos, and the marriages,
births, deaths, location from where, and when some were taken by the
FBI from their homes, and when and where they went when they were told
to "leave" Poston and had no where to go.
The book tells of some of the students who were released to attend college, others went outside for agricultural work in nearby states, and the Poston organization memberships and positions held, etc.. Information mostly extracted from the Poston Chronicles and/or oral histories by the author.
The goal of the book series is to let outsiders know that each person was a real person. Most descendants have no idea WHO were living in the same block. Those who were incarcerated did not talk about this traumatic episode in their disrupted their lives which occurred from 1942-1945.

FY2013 Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Awards
Unfortunately, the Poston Community Alliance was NOT selected for a National Park Service (Fiscal Year 2013) grant funding for development of a "Master Plan" for our project site located at the Poston I elementary school.
With the donated funds from our Poston memorial brick project, we hope to develop our own process for a "Master Plan" with a preservation planner and architect.
Help us spread this message. Your donations are tax-deductible.

During World War II, of the 110,000 interned Japanese Americans, nearly 18, 000
were incarcerated in the Poston concentration camp on the Colorado River Indian Tribes (C.R.I.T.) Reservation in Arizona. The Poston Memorial Monument was built in 1992 through the efforts of a determined and passionate group of detainees with support from the C.R.I.T.
The mission of the Poston Community Alliance is to create a foundation for educating the public about what took place at Poston, Arizona during World
War II.
The Poston Community Alliance is on a MAJOR fundraising campaign to restore Poston's remaining historic structures to create a museum. This museum will tell the stories of Japanese Americans and Native Americans who shared the surrounding land.
